About Us

Starting over again is one of the toughest things a person can be asked to do. But most of us, at one point in our lives, are forced to do exactly that. When you're feeling lost, taking control of your new circumstances is an important part of turning your life around. Momentum Sober Living aims to help you get you back on tract and reintegrate back to a healthy way of life and your community.

Momentum was founded in 2009 with the goal of improving quality of services for those seeking treatment in behavioral health. Momentum has assisted psychiatric residential treatment programs, community training homes and group homes with CARF accreditation, program development, staff development, and client engagement.

The opiate epidemic created a call to action for Momentum to assist in the efforts of the treatment community to provide quality services. Assessment of the existing services indicated a lack of true transitional residential services, not only in the addiction field, but also in the mental health field.

Most overdoses in addiction occur after a patient is discharged from residential programs. Discharge from a mental health residential program also poses as a difficult time for clients. Momentum has created a program milieu designed to assist clients in this transition time to more effectively return back to the community. Momentum help clients in developing a healthy lifestyle and by providing the support clients need to have a purposeful life.

Living Healthy to Recover

Exercise & Meditation
Medication & Good Nutrition

Exercise can provide an invaluable alternative to virtually any addiction, as it activates your brain's pleasure centers in much the same way as alcohol, cigarettes and drugs do, only with healthful, instead of detrimental, side effects to your mental and physical well-being.

There’s no set time frame for a meditation session; it can be done for just a minutes or an hour or two.  Meditation can be done any time of the day.  However, many – if not most – individuals who meditate regularly strive to do so at the same time each day.  It can be practiced by anyone, regardless of spiritual or religious beliefs.  In fact, many people who meditate do it to relieve stress and feel more centered – with religion having no connection to their practice.

Independent Living Skills

Recovery requires a healthy lifestyle change. It comes in learning self-management, problem solving skills and finding a purposeful way of returning back to day-to-day living.

Supportive guidance will allow you or your loved one to reintegrate back to the community.

This starts with respect and an understanding that starting over is a process best built in a supportive caring environment.

Taking prescribed medication at the right time is crucial in maintaining recovery. Medication management is part of the array of services needed to ease you or your loved one back to a life of independence.

Set routine to ensure that medication is monitored for adverse reactions and optimal outcome.

Learning about good nutrition and how to prepare healthful meals helps get recovering addicts on a path to good health once they have to live on their own again. It sets them on a path that minimizes the chances of developing a transfer addiction to junk foods. Mood is affected by food and helping you or your loved one to gain a better understanding of how to eat healthy is an important part of recovery.

Maintaining recovery requires a healthy lifestyle change.  Momentum Sober Living provides the guidance and support that you need to make this change happen and the MOMENTUM you need to create the healthy life to stay in recovery.
